Complete maintenance inspection checklist
- ✓Equipment identity and operating history
Record model, position, served zone, operating hours, previous complaints and completed work. A numbered equipment list prevents the condition of one unit from being copied across a multi-unit site.
- ✓Filters, grilles, airflow and heat exchangers
Inspect agreed accessible areas for obstruction and buildup, confirm that supply and return paths are clear and compare observable airflow. Cleaning depth is defined separately from inspection so that concealed or outdoor work is not assumed.
- ✓Drainage, pan, insulation and water marks
Check accessible drain pans and pipes for choking, leakage or flooding, and inspect visible insulation and surrounding finishes for condensation marks. A concealed drain or building-water source may require a separate investigation.
- ✓Indoor and outdoor operating condition
Record abnormal noise, vibration, odor, frost, fan behavior, heat rejection and displayed errors. Relevant temperatures, current or controls are checked according to the equipment and agreed maintenance level.
- ✓Pipework, joints, supports and service access
Inspect visible pipes, insulation, joints, brackets and panels for damage, corrosion, leakage signs or restricted access. Conditions that cannot be safely reached are documented rather than marked as checked.
- ✓Report, action priority and handover
Separate completed routine work from defects requiring repair, access or quotation. State urgent stop-use issues, monitor items, recommended actions and the evidence used so the next visit can compare changes.
